I expected a tour of the Anheuser-Busch Brewery to be an industrial tour of the brewing process. What I didn't expect was an architecture and animal tour. I was very impressed by the beauty of the brewery buildings, inside and out, and the brewery grounds. The exterior of the buildings had many architectural details including brick inlay and statues of symbols of the brand and its products. The interior of the buildings had beautiful tile work, ironwork, and chandeliers. The beautiful interiors included the interior of the stables that housed the Clydesdales and the Dalmatians.
The grounds were also very well maintained. The lawns were all well manicured. There were many flowering plans and well-trimmed shrubs. Of course the plans and shrubs were mulched with the beechwood that was used in the aging process.
It was a very good tour that took a little over an hour. At the end, you were treated to pretzels and samples of the products in the tasting room. Since A-B was bought by Inbev in Europe, the samples also included Inbev products such as Stella Artois. Sodas were also available.
