Iceland - Day 2 still! (Seljalandsfoss)

We stopped here expecting to see a waterfall and found a trail of waterfalls instead.  The first and most majestic is Seljalandfoss which you can view from in front or behind.  Since the day was only half over, we decided not to get soaked with the view from behind but enjoyed watching folks on the trail.

Iceland - Day 2 (Horses)

Iceland has 1 horse for every 4 humans.  The horses are some of the most beautiful horses I have ever seen.

Iceland - Day 2 (Gullfoss)

Gullfoss meaning "Golden Falls" is Icelands most iconic waterfall. It was almost submerged to create energy with a hydroelectric dam in the 1920's.  Lucky for us it was not.

Iceland - Day 2 (Geysir)

Iceland was where geyser's were first documented.  The term "geyser" comes from the Icelandic "Geysir" which was higher than Old Faithful and more frequent.  Due to earthquakes, "Geysir" no longer spouts but close by, Strokker goes off overy 5-10 minutes.

Iceland - Day 2

This was our 2nd day in Iceland and I wish we had 2 days to enjoy this part of the trip.  You will understand why when you see everything we did on this day.  The sad thing is there were a lot of things we had to skip.

This is Iceland's Crater Lake (Kerid).  Not quite as spectacular as Oregon's Crater Lake but definitely worth a visit.
