Iceland Day 6 - North Coast

Icelandic Horses grazing next to the Arctic Ocean
Farm on the Arctic Ocean
Fishing Village of Olafsfjordur.  A welcome view after traveling through a 2 mile tunnel that was one way most of the way with pull-offs for on coming travel.  The tunnel was completed in 2010 and saves a 38.5 mile drive around the mountain.

Iceland - Day 6: Godafoss

We left the ring road to travel the Troll Peninsula (Trollaskagi) based on the recommendation of the hotel clerk.  The drive was amazing but there were not a lot of pull offs to take photos.  Before we got tot he peninsula, we stopped at Godafoss or Waterfall of the Gods.  According to legend, in the year 1000, Iceland converted to Christianity and disposed of the pagan Norse idols into the falls.

Iceland - Day 5: Whale watching in Husavik

Serious Gear is provided for whale watching on the Arctic Ocean

Beautiful scenery even without a lot of whales

Nice June evening on the Arctic Ocean

And there is the spout
A Humpback Whale's Tale.  The pattern of the fluke is unique like a human's fingerprint.
